DIY frame makeover

Aug 29, 2015

Yesterday when I was double tapping my finger away on instagram one picture really caught my eye. I fell in love with the frame Rachel from @a_beautifulnest had a picture of so I used it as inspiration to create one myself. The wood picture frames I used were purchased a couple of years ago and I recently stumbled upon them again while I was decluttering my garage. This was a super easy project, I had everything on hand so it pretty much cost zero to make.

Mine

My plans were to paint them a light blue and create a wood effect using antique wax. I ended up not liking the way it looked so I painted them over with a cream off white color. Which was way more better for my liking.  As I've stated before my penmanship SUCKS so this is the font I used and the free laurel clip art. Which I just shaded the back of the paper with a shading pencil and traced it over onto the frame. Painted the words, distressed the frames a bit and drilled some keyhole hangers. I love the way they turned out.
